I forgot what it’s like to hang out with friends
My work is being featured by the lovely Paint Pens Collective.
Have a look on their website! :-)
Featured Artist ||| Natalie Foss (Oslo, Norway)
At first glance, Natalie Foss’s work may appear as happy-go-lucky illustrations, due to the use of primary radiant blues, yellows and reds. However, with the consistent shades of blue on her characters, and yellow/red illustration patterns on their clothing, her art is a mix of complimentary colors that highlights the intense and subtle expressions on her subject’s faces. Ironically, with the shades of blue that outline her character’s body language and facial expressions, her characters translate the “I’m feeling blue” sentiment. Foss’s artistic style masters the colors wheel’s theory of complimentary colors where her work wires her characters to have a deeper meaning of their creation.
Natalie Foss was born and bred in Oslo, Norway. Foss has been drawing since early childhood and later became a big part of her everyday life. She received a Bachelor in illustration from Kingston University where she also studied art at Strykejernet School of Art in Oslo.
Some of Foss’s inspirations come from uses of color, music, feelings, people, and subcultures.
In the future, she hopes to have a collaboration exhibit with her twin sister, Madelen Foss, who shares similarities in color but with a different style. Stay tuned for more info on this collaboration!
